Hello everyone
boy I have missed you all, so much has happened since I went away, in November, for anyone who remebers me!!
Firstly
Jenni Love so sorry to read that thngs have got no better for you medically but I love the way you stick up for yourself, well done. I hope that
your other family worries have improoved and that you are gettting the help that you all deserve.
Secondly
How is everyone else? If anything major has happened to my pals on here please let me know as I have been away for an eternity, well thats how it feels anyway!!
Thirdly
An up date on me, Yes we moved house and it is great, so much easier for me and we are not in each others pockets now. Just waiting for a few adjustments to help from OCT
Had a dispute with Sky which is why I have not had my broadband since moving and why I am now with BT.
Hip operation did not happen!! When I got to the hospital my lovely consultant Mr. Monk came round and he saw me walking, why are you walking so badly he said, My ankle I replied. He
wanted the whole sorry tale and when he saw my ankle/foot he said that in his oppinion I should get the left ankle sorted first and then he would do the right hip. He had just come back from USA where they (For the under 50)who need hip replacement try injecting into the joint with Local anisthetic instead, with good results albeit temporary. So we did that, when I was lying on the theatre table, no knickers, nightie up to my armpits, he started to tell me that he had looked at all of my ankle tests and what I had been told that there was nothing wrong with it was wrong. I justm wanted them to knock me out to put me out f my missery!! The consultant has been great, he arranged physio for me, he arranged an appointment with a fello cons. who deals with ankles but unfortuantly the injection did not work.
Ih have seen the ankle consultant and it would seem that the tendon that runs from my ankle down to the big toe has either torn completely or just does not want to work
at last someone taking me seriously. The only 2 options are surgical shoes for the rest of my life to hoold my foot in the right position which should stop the awful pain or
having the ankle and foot fused togethor. We are going to try the shoes and I go for a fitting beg Feb. Will hope to have hip done next few months.

I still went to my mum and dads for christmas whilst Antonio took the children to Italy to see his father, I missed them but it was lovely to spend some time with
my parents and the children had a lovely time in Italy and they did not continously think about what I cpould or could not do.
And my mums knee op, sheduled for christmas eve was cancelled. She had it done yesterday,it was a big op this time as it was the seconed one on the same knee only 1 year apart.
She had to spend some time in intensive care but is improoving now. Perhaps this time if she says there is something not right with it they will believe her!!

Love and every good wish for the New Year to you all

Hi Mel,

I wondered where you'd got to, hadn't seen you posting on the new site.

Shame your hip op never went ahead, but I suppose its best to get your ankle sorted first, so you can bear weight on it once your hip is replaced. Hope you get sorted soon.

Hi Mel,

It`s good to have you back with us. I`m sorry things didn`t go as planned re the hip surgery, but you seem to have a good consultant looking after you.

Hope your mum makes a good recovery.

Kathleen x

Hi Melanie

Glad you sorted SKY out and are now back on line.

Sorry the hip replacement didn't go ahead as planned, but as Carol has said, it's better to get the ankle sorted out first so you can weight bear when you finally have the hip done.

Keeping everything crossed for your Mum too.

Take care

Love Jeanxxxxxx

Yes I take either co-codamol or co-drydamol, I prefer the latter but have been given the other, very annoying too! LOL
